If you only come to Koh Kret to either visit the temples or go round the island on a bike or both then week days are most suitable as the narrow paths are not that busy. There are some convenience stores open and it is possible to rent a bike. If you prefer crowded paths but also the many stores open (incl. restaurants and coffee shops) then it is at the week end you should come.

We were there on Saturday and it was buzzing with shops selling all kind of thai local delicacies. There are also many noodle shops located right by the water. Its unique setting and linear layout make for a fun hour or two.

Crowded on weekends and public holidays. Fun to walk around. Many interesting food and stuff. The pottery looked cool.

Walk a bit, look around, it's amazing. The reclining Buddha is as beautiful as in Bangkok or somewhere else.
