Average Bar in 2016, downhill since then, staff are okay the manager is annoying though you will be hounded for drink as if you were at a high end Vegas strip bar.
Save your money and go to Nutty Park

yes they're friendly if you keep ordering drinks but in the end they tried to overcharge me 1 extra beer and 1 extra drink. I kindly asked them to remove the drink from the bill. They acted like it was a misunderstanding and removed the lady drink. I told them I know that I only had 3 beers not 4 and paid for what I consumed. the bar keeper Fern yelled at me angrily and threw a heavy padlock that was laying there with full speed at my neck. She was ready to fight so I had to leave immediately. After almost 2 years in TH this must be my first experience of Thai's behaving that way. Be careful guys and go to an interesting and honest bar in this road

I don't eat here but the hostes was always friendly to me and my friends. Much fun, funny pool games, inexpensive, normal price. I will come back again.

I have been travelling to Udon off and on for near on a year now.
I have been to many bars in the area and have found the red lion to be the best of the lot.
Kevin has always been a great host and a source of intelligent conversation.Something sadly lacking from most every other bar in the area.
Fern also has always been a great and friendly hostess unless the behaviour of the customer warrants otherwise.
The food there has always been fine.
I would go there again and have a great time without a moments hesitation.

Took my wife and kids for a nice meal and absolutely hated everything about this place. Some guy, I presume he must be the owner wouldn't stop talking to my wife every time I went to the bathroom. Each time I would return he would pretend to be asking about the food etc... luckily my wife is a good woman and told me that he was asking for her number. I cant believe the cheek of this skinny little man. Needless to say, I will never return there again nor will I recommend this place to anyone. A warning to anybody going there , don't take the missus or girlfriend. Judging from the previous comment , I am not the only person affected by this beta males antics. oh and the food was awful aswell!!

Don't know where to begin. I really fancied an English breakfast and somebody suggested that I try The Red Lion. The eggs weren't cooked properly, the bacon was burnt and the beans tasted like vinegar. I found the woman who served me very friendly ,but I felt uncomfortable when her husband turned up and immediately started barking orders at her. I could tell she felt embarrassed in front of all of us. To save face , she took it and smiled but i can tell she wasn't happy.
Apart from that , I can say that there a loads of other places I would prefer to eat. There's a market just up the road that sell everything you could need and a nice place called " The Good Corner" which is only a short 5 min walk from The Red Lion, so I would suggest giving this place a miss and avoid having a bad experience as I did.
