Wow!! Amazing!!
Be sure to bring a good flash light.
According to the historical records, it is believed that this cave is over 1300 years old. The images of the Buddha in various poses carved into the stone wall of the cave.
At first, we though there was nothing much to this cave but upon a closer look..WOW!! the carved stones were right in front of us but we were just too close to the wall. I mean, the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up.
Look up and around you will see these amazing carvings. I felt like I was Indiana Jones try to find clues to decode the inscriptions. These carvings were supposedly done during the 6th century. In other countries, there are probably acrylic panels in front of these carving to protect them from vandalism. I was totally awed by just being here.
I'm not a history buff nor an archaeologist, but I do wish I had more time to stay in the cave to study the carving a little bit more, being able to meditate in the cave would have been awesome.
To get good photos of the high carving, have a friend shine the light up from underneath so that shadow will outline the ridges. You can see the images better.
This cave is about 90 min drive from Bangkok. There are many caves to explores around here.
This is something you don't want to miss.
