Okay, this place isn't perfect. I think the rooms are used once every couple of months on average. So yes, taps need to be run for a few seconds first when you first go in. And the humidity makes it - like the rest of Thailand - a fantastic place for biology.

But the stay was amazing. The fit-out is like a 5* hotel in Europe or Singapore. And the hotel is well maintained, particularly on the outside. However, it's like it was built with unlimited money and to the finest tastes of the, early 1990s - as a land mark hotel and possibly even conference centre.

But it's been run by enthusiastic but inexperienced people. The room rate was so low, I can barely understand how they afford to keep it so well air-conditioned. I wanted to rent the entire top floor, and go live there for a year, and run the hotel as it should be run, because then it would be fabulous.

Everything was there, but there was almost no outward sign that this was a great hotel. But it could be. Just remember, that a room here is roughly 5% of the room rate that I would charge you, if I were running this hotel and doing it properly.

Damn, it has potential!!

It's alright. Everything seems old. The bathroom could be cleaner but it's not that bad. There's no bidet shower head in the bathroom. WHYYYYY!!!???? the breakfast was fine. There's not much of a variety. The pictures on hotel booking sites are far better than the real place.

Was directed here after flights were cancelled. The hotel staff are not equipped to deal with any problem solving and are reluctant to arrange phone access to contact airline, however wifi is provided.

The floors are smelly and the rooms are dirty. There was a dirt on the windows and the room phone, the bathroom had hair and what looked like bloodstains on the tiles, the power outlets stop working when the lights are turned off and street noise can be easily heard from the upper floors.

The location is also bad as local clubs play music into the early hours and a multistorey electronic billboard is turned on before sunrise.

Avoid at any cost. In case of flight delay/cancellation, find alternate accommodation closer to the airport and call airline directly.

I stayed here in Metropole Hotel during my inspection trip to Phuket, this is a large hotel built in old style. The property offer spacious lobby, good room, large bathroom, the equipment is a bit old, but clean, rooms in higher floor offer good city view. Buffet breakfast with choices, staff is friendly and professional. Good stay.

We had a nice stay here. the rooms are big and clean. staff is very helpful and friendly, situated in the town so far from night life and Patong beach.. Robinson Mall is just a few blocks away. There are many restaurants and food shops around the hotel.

Big (for Thailand) and tired place in the middle of a pretty ugly area. Got dropped off here by an airline when our flight got delayed. Like this table, lamp and wall, every article has seen its better days. The marble surfaces remind you of those days as well. The bed linen and towels are clean and the buffet meals are ok if repetitive. The staff has so far been friendly and helpful. The musty smell though - it's everywhere!

Rooms were clean and spacious; unfortunately, the pool was under renovation. Hotel seems to have had its heydays, and is now due for a facelift. Breakfast had a variety and staff were friendly and courteous.
