Phuket Paradiso Hotel

Hotel Paradiso is a Design Boutique Hotel, with modern and well maintained interiors and spotless clean rooms. Rooms are equipped with a small kitchen corner, very convenient to prepare breakfast and to warm up some meals. We are a family of four, we spent 10 nights at Hotel Paradiso , and we really enjoyed our stay in the big Family Room.
The Hotel is located in the center of Chalong, at walking distance to the Pier for daily excursions, and to many bars, restaurant and imported goods supermarket.
With motorbike the beaches of Naiharn and Kata are only 10 minutes away.

A couple of years ago I signed a 12 month lease at Phuket Paridiso based off of a friends recommendation that was also staying there.

After about a month, I picked up on their scam.

Someone with access to the security cameras, the swipe card, room key and master code to the room safe had been letting themselves in to my room and taking small amounts from the safe when I was not there.

This was noticed after the 20000THB I had in the safe had dwindled down to 11000THB and all of my foreign currency tips from work were also missing.

The morning I noticed the scam I wrapped up the 11000THB as this is what was needed for rent that afternoon, and to no great surprise when I got home in the afternoon and tried to pay the rent there was only 7000THB left.

After confronting the manager and son I was told the security cameras were not working and that the manger and son were the only ones with keys to the whole complex. When I pointed out it must have been manager of his son they got angry and tried to fight me, so I left.

I moved out that evening and had to forego the 10000THB deposit I had put down, despite the fact I was leaving due to someone that works there skimming money out of the safe.

About 18 months later, I was contacted by the owner of Phuket Paradiso and he was very embarrassed because initially he had called me a liar, but later it came to light that the manager and/or son were also skimming other rooms.

The owner offered me 4000THB for compensation and asked me to move back in with discounted rent. A kick in the teeth considering I lost about 25000THB and had out of pocked expenses finding other accommodation.

Would not recommend to anyone, unless you like people skimming out of your safe.

Cozy eccentric place, uniquely designed with comfort in mind. Stayed in the family suite for four nights with my family. It felt like home, Charlie designed the place in a homely manner with lots of personal touches. Charlie is a great guy, extremely helpful and friendly. If I ever come to Phuket again I will for sure stay in Charlie's place for sure.

Spectacular stay with impeccable hospitality. Rooms were tastefully decorated, large, and extremely comfortable. A must-stay in Phuket!
