A classic tea house with food.

As a tea house, it has a whopping two-page menu for roti. Intrigued by “slap charcoal roti”, I learned that it is analogous to “green tea roti” except infused with charcoal powder — good for digestion, I presume.

As it is a halal restaurant, I just had to try its “beef soup”. Forgot to order as “mai pad”, it came with loads of red and green chili peppers. The red was easy to pick out, but not the green — as there were lots of chopped green onions in the soup as well. I learned an interesting lesson about constants: from the bus station of Surin, through the fifth floor of Klang Plaza in Korat, to here in Nakhon Si, the tastes and prices are similar.

The service here is exceptional. No fewer than five people came over to offer help and to serve. “Friendly” is an understatement; they make you feel as a guest in their home.

Last but not least, Google Maps does NOT show this place, unless it is exaggeratedly magnified. As well, the direction given by Google Maps is WRONG: it leads one into a blind alley. Instead, you should look for Ligor Home Bakery 2 or its near-by 7-11.

Has always been my favourite hotel in NST. Great staff, comfortable well equipped rooms though starting to show their age a little and a beer garden with live music downstairs. Swimming pool and fitness too all at very competitive rates. Well worth a stay.
