Great place to relax in the several reggae like bars behind the beach, almost no tourists (April 3-5), cheap and good food and accommodation. Walk up the hill behind the village for cheapest accommodation (150 baht for own chalet). From Tonsai you can walk to Railay beach and further.

Have to be honest. I sat here before looking at the reviews and was dreading the service and food after I brought up internet. No, it was not the best meal ever. However, given the view and friendly smiling customer service it well exceeded anything on Railay West. Maybe this place has turned a corner because service was friendly/efficient and food was tasty!

I am here to speak for the people who stay at Tonsai Bay Resort. Every morning has free breakfast and it is Delicious! It is very satisfying and the person who cooks the eggs make them perfectly. I don’t know the price of the place, so I can’t speak for having to pay for individual meals.

Brace yourselves! Worst service we have experienced: First, after waiting for waiter we had to find and get the menu and thereafter grab a waiter to place our order ourselves. Then, after another 45minutes we had to realize they forgot our order. No compensation, closed the restaurant while we were still eating. While we were there we realized a general dissatisfaction among guests (long wait, servants abandoning tables, cold or improperly cooked food). Food was eatable but far from good or worth the price nottomention the wait.

It didn't take too long and the view was very nice. I didn't have the mains, so I can't speak for them, but the shrimp cakes and french onion soup were nice. A bit on the expensive side but with such a location it's to be expected.

Food has become disappointing. On our last visit our Pad Thai’s were pretty dire (they tasted like yesterday’s leftovers). Side note, expect prices to be higher (you’re paying for the beach front dining).
