Centara Grand Beach Resort belongs to the top category of hotels. From that angle it is unacceptable that the resort assigned a room that is surrounded by trees blocking any view, while we were offered and booked a room with “ocean view”. The excuse was even worse: the room is facing the ocean. “Sir, we did not book a room facing the ocean. Centara offered and we booked a room viewing the ocean”. The management offered another accommodation and that happened to be a genuine beach front room.
Otherwise the resort lifted up its credentials. Running a resort in the middle of a national park is a challenge. Centara is doing a great job to unveil the beauty of a national park, while minimizing the discomfort of the jungle: monkeys, mosquitoes etc. We nourish a great memory of Centara Grand in Ao Nang and we enjoyed the boat trip to and from the resort. The Andaman Sea around Krabi is awesome. The rocky limestone formations around the resort present them selvage at great artistic sculptures, created by Mother Nature.
