Three stars as I need scope to recognise far more beautiful/impressive Temples in the area.
The large and rather plump Buddha statue is 600 years old. The flat ceiling of the Chapel is designed with ancient Lanna amulets. The Temple has a remarkable escape during WW2 when eight bombs dropped on it failed go explode. Very busy area as right next to the market.

The tempel is not very impressive, compared to many of Chiang Rai's beautifull old temples, but I like the marked on the streets around the temple.

This temple has some really interesting buildings u0026 statues that I haven't seen at any of the other temples in Thailand so far. Also has a nice garden that is surprisingly peaceful in the middle of the city. Some things are being renovated.

Wat Mung Muang has a long history, being the only temple to survive the bombings of Chiang Rai during WWII. However, despite its age, it unfortunately has not been as well maintained as others in the region. The main hall has been reconstructed, making it appear much more modern than it actually is, leaving the statues of Sivari as one of the few features that showcase this temple’s historical significance.

My rate is as a tourist, since im not buddhist. The temple is small and pretty. The market nearby is horrible and contributes to make this place not good for tourism
