Good. Bit different. (Went for dinner, not the buffet lunch.) There were only 2 other tables which is a shame but it was nice. Sat in the restaurant at the front. (Not the Lanna room with performers I saw in photos.) Had the larb which was recommended - very tasty, bit too much offal for me (purely psychological) but ar lass loved it. Never had geng hang lay like that. It was more like pulled pork than the usual chunks of meat and fat but they’d removed all the fat and it was delicious ! And some local green leaf veg fried with egg. Great !

Yikes. Went for the lunch buffet and I would give 0 stars but the Gang hanglae was good. Everything else was cold and tasteless. They offered to make our kids a few pieces of fried chicken and when it came out there was fresh, bright red blood all over the plate and dripping from the chicken. We told them and they just replied that they guess it's not cooked. Additionally they charge full-price for kids as well, 4 years old and 12 months old. 4 years old I can maybe understand but for a baby?! Will not return.

Excellent food, great decor and ambiance. Service is sublimely perfect. Great staff. Stop here for authentic local flavours. Close to Chiangrai Hospital and good walking distance from clock tower and night bazar.

Hello everyone,
After our trip at Phu Chi Fa, our local guide proposed us this wonderful restaurant, with authentic northern Thai meal.

At first, thousands thanks for the huge kindness of the owner, the cooker and the waitress.

I have to tell you, my wife and I are a mixed couple... We had thousands questions about each meal... And each time, we have received an answer with this wonderful smile.
Everything was Aroi Mak Mak ( very very tasty. Hehehe)
Ok you can guess, we are huge fan.
We are from Bangkok and France, but we will try to come each year. Cos it is just a tasty place with wonderful persons.

If you are farang (foreigners), please, come to visit them
I promise you, you will remember it all your life
This is THE Thai food... Don't worry, just enough spicy
