We booked a 2 Days 1 Night Jungle Trek and Survival Tour. Everything was well organized, the guide was very friendly and good English speaking person!

On the first day we trekked for about 13km through the jungle, we made a break to swim in a creek and had some lunch with some local rice farmer on the way up to the mountain.

Later we were lucky to find some Turtle mushrooms, which are quite rare in that area.

We spend a night with his family in the village and cooked a tasty dinner from the collected mushrooms!

The accommodation was basic but clean and the family were very good hosts.

On the next day we continued our trekking. We learned how to build cups and chop sticks from bamboo trees and prepared our own food using traditional bamboo cooking techniques in the middle of a green rice field.

Finally we arrived the hot springs to relax from those days and returned to Chiang Rai.

Over all there was nothing to complain! It was a great experience! Thank you all at Japa Tours for this trip!

10/10 experience and services !! We did the jungle trekking tour - 2 nights/3days - with Jay and Jayku (hunter) from proud Lahu tribe. Whatever you imagined, you will see more than expected. Recommend 100% if you are looking for a genuine and different way to experience the nature and tribal cultures.

+ Jay, our tour guide, speaks perfect English and ready to help all the time with fun!

+ Jay is so knowledgeable of Lahu’s history, culture and way of life and answered any question with passion and love. Thank you Jay

+ Jayku, a pro tribe hunter, is a master of natural references and hunting. He showed us many herbals and animal traces to show the story that you couldn’t see with your eyes. Ask him everything you want to know, he knows. His beautiful and pure smile is very charming. The kind of smile makes you feel warm and happy.

+ Jayku and Jay built everything from nature - shelter, cups, chopsticks, plates, etc. - with incredible machete skills. Everything was from nature and returned to the nature.

+ Jayku is a master chef. He has excellent cooking skills, it was the best meals we ever had in Thailand!!

+ The 2nights/3days jungle trip was perfectly planned, not too much walk not too much rest. As they ask, don’t forget to prepare long sleeves shirts and pants, long socks and good sleeping bag.

+ Jappa was always on time. He came for the pick up at the hotel in Chiang Rai and drove us back to hotel at the end of the trip. He even dropped off one of us at the airport. Thank you Jappa!

We had a wonderful experience with Tony and Pat for the two day trekking in the North of Chiang Rai.
We are experienced travelers that like to do things off the beaten track without too much tourism.
Tony delivered an outstanding experienced.
The trekking might have been slightly harder Th en easy-peasy at times but absolutely worth it.
The lunch and dinner provided by village people was spectacular and tony and pat are truly amazing people!
Definitely recommend it with 5 stars since everything was tip top from the beginning Till the end!
Thank you very much

We had an amazing time on this trekking tour with Japa and his guides. It was very rustic and beautiful with the guides creating amazing meals from a fire inside the hut. Lunch was unique as the guides created cups out of bamboo for us to eat from. Make sure you bring a lightweight blanket that you can pack as it gets chilly at night. All in all this was a fabulous way to see Thailand in a very special way.

I have had the luck to have Tony as the tour guide: a wise experienced man full of interesting topics and explanations during the trek. I went for a 2 day trek sleeping at the Yafu village: it was a tough non tourist path and I loved it! The food, the friendliness, the landscape, the path we were creating using the machete, everything in that piece of heaven was memorable. If you are looking for a real non touristic trek I definitely suggest to go for this one asking Tony and Pat as your guide
