What a wonderful place to enjoy amazing food in a beautiful riverside location. I was able to have a discussion with the owner and got a little more understanding of the story behind the restaurant.

The restaurant itself makes great food for sure, but it's really about making great people. The restaurant employs many people and is helping those and many students to pay their way through life and university. It's changing lives and producing great food for its guests.

They have some great looking seafood options, that I saw coming out from the kitchen, well all the food looked great.

Been to Paak Dang 3 times and not disappointed. Food was yummy and staff are very well taught. On my third visit, my friends and I asked if the squid could be cooked differently than what was offered on the menu and the owner, Ms. K-Lin said it could be done. We loved the dish so much that we ordered it a second time. Do try the pineapple seafood rice (so tasty!) and lychee mint drink (super refreshing!)

This restaurant is a little riverside dining place. It is opened by a Singaporean couple who decided to leave the Singapore life and come open a restaurant in this place to bring business to the local community.

The decor is pretty nicely done, with a candle lighting up your dinner table when it gets dark. There is a band playing live music. The riverside view is honestly nothing to scream at and is only mediocre at best.

Came with another friend, and we ordered the baby back ribs, which had a chef hat recommendation on it. However the ribs was burnt on the outside and only nice in the middle. The best dish we both agreed on was the kale stirred fried with oyster sauce and garlic. Food size was very generous though.

Overall a pretty decent place.

This is a notably great place on the river that features authentic Thai food. The service is excellent and they have fish, chicken, pork dishes, and salads that range from 120 to 450 baht. They also have great shakes and there is live music, usually one guy with a guitar most nights. I recommend trying it at least once.

Paak Dang Restaurant, Chiang Mai, Thailand

Paak Dang is a traditional Seafood restaurant serving its signature dishes of Seafood with fresh offerings available too. Situated just off to the east side of the square with a secluded and private Riverside setting.

Outside view - from the roadside, you enter into a large entrance with a lots of greenery and an open reception. The open air kitchen is on the left side with lots of people preparing the food.

Inside view - Very open and spacious from the roadside as you enter, walking through the main inside restaurant to the rear which opens up into a variety of outside eating areas. The whole area represents a garden with water features including views of the river.

There are seating options to suit couples to large groups on different platforms next to the river.

Menu - Is quite ample, with a theme of seafood and typical thai dishes, from rice to noodles including full seafood buffet options. Prices are pretty good and average for the area. Menu is available in English and Thai but they also have chinese speaking and probably other languages too.

Drinks - They also have a variety of soft drinks, juices and alcoholic drinks.

Food - We ordered a whole steamed fish and a pineapple rice dish with some appetisers which were also recommended by the owner who was absolutely amazing. The fish took about 15 minutes to prepare and came out looking great, presentation was 10/10. Taste was fresh and full of flavour leaving us wanting more.

Prices - Competitive for the area.

Staff - Are wonderful with the owners presenting their community driven project with great customer service and giving customers plenty of advice to choose the right meal for them. From the moment you enter until the moment you leave you will have a memorable and relaxing experience.

Additional information - Free WiFi available, everywhere within the restaurant with a strong connection. See before you dine option as the staff will show you the seafood before they prepare it for your approval.

Parking - motos/bikes at the front. Cars, minibuses across the street.

Top Tip - Book your table before you go, they are very responsive and you will have peace of mind with a reserved table by the Riverside.

Recommendation
A must if your in Chiang Mai and especially this place as they are community driven, training locals in all aspects of administering and managing a restaurant.

So you will see plenty of people in the kitchen learning from the chefs and preparing your food from the heart.

Excellent! Indulging in live music and scenic view of the riverside, and you will be mesmerised with the yummy authentic Thai food :)) staffs are super friendly. Try the food i ordered as below, delicious! Surely come back next time

I came on Christmas night dinner, there was a set menu. I enjoyed the grill food but the soup and appetizers were under par. The service was also slow, they waited for all the tables in our area to cook the food. I would think that the general menu is good but I couldn't try the menu properly. Disappointed by the slow service this Christmas, kitchen was OK.
