The reason I gave 5 stars is the excellent service we received from the hotel staff. It is true that this is not the most modern hotel and some of the rooms are a little bit old but the staff are very kind and answer every request at top speed. We asked for two connecting rooms so that the whole family would be together. Since there were no connecting rooms at the level we ordered, we were upgraded to executive rooms even though the staff were not required to do so! Breakfast was good and varied and the cleanliness was very good. Great location - in the heart of Chiang Mai Night Market.

The reception area is stunning and gives the impression that you've arrived at a beautiful hotel but that's as far as the luxury goes.

We arrived at about 2pm and were told our room would be ready in 20 minutes as they wanted to provide us with a nice view. An hour later we had to chase up our room and were eventually given our key card. No explanation about where breakfast is served or at what time - we had to go hunting for the restaurant which turned out to be on the 1st floor. The room was very shabby, although very clean, and the 'view' was of the next door building's rooftop!

Only 2 sachets of coffee and 2 sachets of coffee mate were provided.

The noise from outside at night goes on till midnight - there must be a nightclub close by but we couldn't establish how far away it was. Then, the other guests return to their rooms and insist on standing in the corridors to have lengthy and loud conversations - honestly, I have never experienced this at any other hotel we have stayed at.

There's a good choice of breakfast and all the staff are lovely and incredibly helpful and these are the reasons I went as high as 3 stars.

This hotel was chosen as part of a package by our travel agent but If I was ever staying in Chiang Mai again I would not choose this hotel.

We had high hopes of this hotel when arriving in the lobby as it is very grand however its seems that it's just the lobby where money has been spent.
The bed was absolutely rock hard and was like sleeping on a floor mat (actually hurt our backs towards the end of the stay). The walls are fairly thin and you do get a fair amount of noise at night and in the bathroom the shower could do with an upgrade.
Breakfast had a very good selection but it would get very busy due to the hotels size. Saying that though, we were always able to get a table.
The pool was alright but was lacking in deck chairs and wasn't tiled so had quite a rough finish.
The location however was brilliant as you stepped out onto the night bazaar and had a big selection of markets selling everything you need.
Finally, I have to say that the staff were so helpful and would do all they could to make our stay as nice as possible.

The best thing about Dusit Princess is the location and the main reason I stay here again.
The hotel itself is a bit old but the staff is friendly and helpful.
The rooms are average, nothing special and the bathroom quite small.
Buffet breakfast is good though.
Overall I would say a good 3 stars hotel

This place is clean, cool and quiet. I had major problems with my door key card over three days. Ended up locked out of my room on at least nine occasions - and was given a new key each time without verification of ID or even giving my name. I could have been anyone. Surprising. This is a big hotel and perfectly fine for that sort of experience, but nothing special.

It's a nice hotel in a convenient location. The swimming pool is ideal for some r and r before heading into the busy streets. The rooms are clean and comfortable but I found a few, of the already too few, power sockets didn't support the weight of our power adapters. Maybe bring a gang plug if you stay there.

Nice hotel overall with nice and welcoming staffs.
Room is big with plenty of storage places. Hair dryer is available and iron and ironing table on request.
Wall is thin so not advisable for the light sleepers.
There's a bathtub instead of a shower which in my room was dirty! It had a yellow tint which u get in all tubs when it's not properly brushed!!
Swimming pool is pretty cool from 1.45 metres to 2.75 metres.
There are restaurants, all around the hotel and a night market which is opened till around midnight.
