I was with a group of girls and we had our first zip-line experience with Dragon Flight earlier on during our short stay in Chiang Mai. The zip-line experience was amazing and so did the crew who took care of us, though I really could not say the same for the photographer. We paid THB250 per person (as we are a big group and this explains the discounted price) and though it was not a huge price, we still expected professional services and if not services, at least decent photos. The photographer was not present at the first few rides/zip-lines. We asked the crew and their reply was that the photographer was “on the way”. Then finally the photographer was with us, but he made minimal effort in taking photos of us. We literally had to ask for photos to be taken. The photographer did take pictures of us upon landing of each zip-line, but this was it, for instance he never offered to help us take group photos - we had to ask for it every time. I could not sense any enthusiasm nor professionalism in the service he provided. It was very upsetting.
But this was not even the worst of it. After our session the photographer said that I could leave my email address on their application form so that he could send me back the photos the day after (this was what he offered to do), to which we received none. We expected we could see the photos together while we were still in Chiang Mai. For any travelers who had travelled with a group of close friends I’m sure you’d understand that would be so much fun. We sent emails to chase but to my surprise we received no reply at all. No explanations as to why we still haven’t received the photos as promised, and no apologies whatsoever. It was a huge let down to not be able to share the photos and laugh at them together with my friends. It’s true that we already got two DVDs with photos but we already made it clear when we wrote on the form that we did not have a DVD reader at the villa and therefore definitely wanted the photos to be sent to us by email the day after. To be frank if there was any problem which stopped them from sending us the photos which we paid for, then I would at least expect a notification email, and like any sensible human being, I’d understand and put this issue aside and enjoy my vacation. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever seen and was a far cry from my expectation.
Finally I received an email with a link to the photos on six days after. We had already gone back to our homes and separated, we couldn’t see the photos together and this had already upset us so much. We were told upon payment that we would receive 7xx photos, but we only had 5xx photos now, which was okay if the photos were of acceptable quality. But they wouldn’t even give us that. What disappointed us the most was the quality of the photos. 60% of the photos were blurred. The focus was on the trees, leaves, ropes... anything but us. It is simply unacceptable.
So for any travelers who’s considering paying money to these photographers to “capture the moment”, think twice. All they capture for our group was disappointment.
