Warm welcoming from the owner.
Dornity beds are clean and comfort with air conditioners, every bed has curtains so you could have good sleep.
Bathroom is really clean. I can see the staff clean every morning. It's a great hostel with good price. I will definitely come back and stay.

Location: close to food market, convinent store, most temples.
Room: air condition room is really comfortable and clean, you will get good sleeping quality.
Air conditioner: yes
Bathroom: really clean.
Toilet: really clean.
Locker: yes
Reception: very friendly
Nearby place: local morning and evening market, most temples.

Comments: this is a hostel combine service and good facilities.
Perfect. Really nice hostel.

Such a nice place! I spent here so long time, every time leaving Chiang Mai and going back to this hostel.
It's a really quite hostel (I was there in March-April, it might be different in a different time of the year), so if you're looking to party go somewhere else. But it's very clean, the owners are soooo nice and helpful, there's free water and bananas during the day, coffee in the morning.
Even if it seems to be one of the quitest of the neighbour, it is in a street with several hostels one next to the other, so everyone was just moving hostel in the night to meet people and spend time together :)
I've also been here during the Songkran and it was an amazing spot, just next to the most active street, and on the street with all the backpackers it has been really fun! :)

Location very nice, not far from everything: airport, food court, shops (especially electronic ones) Bike rental nearly, but if you lazy to go, every time can rent right in the place. Clean and spaces rooms, comfortable beds with curtains.

Friendly staff in a good located hostel. It's a little far from the Tha Pae gate. If you look for decent fair priced place go with Shulin. Wi-Fi could've been a little bit better. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Only the beds were not comfortable I found. Lockers are provided as well as a little breakfast. Banana, tea and coffee.

Owner's have very low moral standards. My friend got jumped here in the hostel. He did not engage in the fight at all as he was trying not to be disrespectful in a foreign country. The whole thing was recorded on security cams, and video of the incident is posted on youtube. The owners refused to cooperate with the police in a criminal investigation, and tried to blame everything on the victim. I would never stay here because I could never support people that condone this type of belligerent behavior. To the owners of the Shunlin Chiang Mai Hostel you bring a lot of shame to a beautiful culture, and it's people. You should be embarrassed, and I encourage all visitors not to support this business.

Simple hostel, but nice and very affordable. The beds in dorms have curtains for a bit of privacy, and outlets (all you need). Also very clean.

The staff is very nice and helpful and gives you hints for everything in chiang mai. Nice and quiet rooms; roof top; free wifi; cheap washing machine; nice location at fuel station, 7 eleven, pharmacy, tesco and a food night market
