Chiang Mai Panda Hostel

Stayed here for a night in October of 2017. This place is great, super quiet and not far from markets that are open late. Bunk beds are private with a curtain and kept cool with a fan blowing constantly (not loud, outside your curtain). Shower facilities definitely enough to get the job done. Amazing stay for the price!!

Clean, comfortable, cheap, located in Old Town close to everything night market, restaurants, park, 7/11, temples. Free water, coffee and tea. In bathroom shower gel, shampoo, hair dryer. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They helped me a lot with Chinese visa which I did in Chiang Mai and gave me a lot of information about China. Owner often offered some traditional tea.

At first I was a little underwhelmed at this hostel because it was not easy to find in pouring rain, and then lady couldnt find my booking and had never heard of Trip.com. Even at 11am the hostel had a feel of 'make as little noise as possible' which felt unwelcoming to me (you msy like that though). The beds are an inch of mattess on wood it feels so my back was sore in the morning. As i have stayed in 4 different hostels since then I have concluded that this is usual for Thai people so I cannot mark against that. I didn't feel I could approach the hostel ***ager about places to visit in Chiang Mai but she was very accommodating on my last day by calling the shuttle bus for my next activity that missed me and went to the wrong place. The place has nice touches that I would not expect at every hostel: communal thongs to wear in shower, 2 hairdryers and a comb, cold water fountain in reception area, fob to get in front door, keyed locker and extra towel in shower area.

Dirty, unfriendly staff and woke up by a cockroach in my bed. You don't have the chance to get a towel and you don't get a blanket. They offer a pick up laundry but you have to wait and it's not possible to let your laundry at the reception. I saw this accommodation at agoda but didn't booked and just walked there. At the morning I just wanted to leave. Never again... The next nights I stayed at a beautiful hostel and just paid 20 THB more.

Its alright if you take a dorm bed. However, i cant recommend you this place if you consider booking the deluxe double bedroom or how they may call it. The price is way too high for what you get. A stone matress, breaking your back each time you sit on it and awful sanitary equipment.

The rooms are comfortable, location is accessible, but the cleanliness is not on its best for me. I am very particular with smell, and there was just this stink in the restroom/bathroom area.

Good location, very clean. A small communal area. The best bit was being near the park for the mornings. Friendly staff. Value for money.
