It was not surprising this museum was not crowded as it feels a bit hidden away in a blue 2-story wooden house behind the large folk museum, directly across the street from 3 Kings monument plaza. Second floor had an exhibition on historical photos of Chiang Mai. The collection was arranged somewhat by theme, with popular life photos which showed fashion and activities when a dance club or music venue opened in the city. Other rooms shared photos of war time, famous people visiting Chiang Mai, and festival celebrations. I really liked this being in an old house. Take off your shoes outside and leave them at ground level at the base of the stairs. To be able to wander in socks feet across the old wooden floor boards, enjoying black and white moments captured in film was nice. The pictures are old and the indoor / outdoor nature of the house probably doesn't aid preservation, but it's a great way to see how Chiang Mai has changed.
