This didn’t go very well. I lived in Chiang Mai for some months and went to the café a couple of times before (you can use the pool for a fee). I enjoyed the restaurant and atmosphere. So I decided to stay at the hotel for 3 nights in April 22. When I inspected the Superior Room I noticed a musty smell, so I went downstairs to ask for a change. They showed me a different category, which had more daylight, but also the bathroom seemed to have mold problem, which I could tell by the smell of bleach, which I assume was applied shortly before. So I asked to cancel the booking, because under those circumstances I couldn't stay with my mold allergy. We agreed upon another room, which seemed okay at first, but my symptoms got so bad, I had to leave 4:00 at night without sleep to find another stay. I even tried the bathroom floor, but it just didn’t work out. Very unpleasant. What followed was very disappointing. I explained the whole situation to the staff and they confirmed to refund the money, but referred to booking.com. It took me hours to get a useful reply from their support stating that I will never get any money from them and suggested to contact the hotel, which I did. Buri Siri hasn’t replied to my mails ever since. Be aware that if you book via booking.com they’re just "partner agency" and will not handle any complaints or refunds. Better not book more than 1 night in advance and see how it goes. If you’re sensitive to mold, I wouldn’t recommend to stay there at all.
EDIT: After many hours of communication I finally received the refund weeks after. So I'll give it 2 instead of just 1 star. The overall experience was still pretty bad, but the hotel staff tried their best.
