We walked from our hotel to Mr. Kai Kitchen, the street sidewalk is not like the typical tourist situation, no frills no neon light, keep following Google Map and u will find a small cafe style Air Conditioned restaurant. U can also see Mr. Kai cooking on the exterior side of the restaurant, when u enter the restaurant you will be greeted by Mrs. Kai, smiley, friendly and humble. This place is own and run by husband and wife, the place is very clean, very comfortable, all the simple, basic necessities all checked! The food was amazing, local authentic taste, piping hot, and well balanced on the pallet.
Since this is a very small restaurant, there’s only about 8 tables. No reservation needed but if u are a big group, u shld call ahead.
We went a bit greedy with our food options, as we were hungry and excited. The price of every dish is just a small fraction of hotels menu, but the flavor/dishes are the big fraction of the food memories we got!
A whole fish cooked however u like, at 300 Baht is amazing! Other dishes were between 100-180 Baht. Beverage option were basic and good enough. They even hv wine by the glass lol!
Go give the local small family run business some support, and experience the beauty of local hospitality and flavors! I am planning to eat there again before we leave Samui.

A small restaurant with indoor seating and air conditioning, owned by a kind family. Food is yummy and prices are very reasonable. Happy to support this local family-owned business!

The staff is super friendly and gentle.
The place is small and cozy.
The food tastes very good and its preparation is visible to anyone.
Portions are very good and prices are excellent.
Really a very good option to eat local food with very good prices.
Recommended.

Really fresh tasty food, beats anything we have had in fisherman's village and a lot more reasonably priced. My girlfriend is vegetarian and they substituted chicken for tofu on request.

This is a great little find in Bophut. It is owned by a family and they are so friendly. We tried most things on the menu, over multiple days, and nothing else compared. The flavour is good and the price is exceptional.

If it is busy the food can be slow to come out as it is just Mr Kai cooking, but it is worth the wait!

Some recommendations are the Pad Si-Ew, Massaman curry / roast duck red curry, morning glory and the stir fried Thai basil. The fruit smoothies are also very fresh and great on a hot day.
