Fantastic hosts who really made our stay easy and exciting in what could otherwise have been a leap too far into the wilds! The rooms are hot during the day but perfectly comfortable at night. The resort is peaceful and pretty with plenty of old fashioned entertainment for evenings. There's a sort of hostel feel but much calmer. The food is top notch and traditionally delicious. Hire a scooter and brave the short trek to the most beautiful beach on the island. Kayaks are included in the price of the room and are good fun. The loo and shower are open to the elements but I hardly saw a bug in there! Much less intimidating than some bathrooms in much more expensive places. All in all a wonderful place really made special by the hosts

Great place to enjoy Thailand! We felt home!
It is not a typical resort (in a positive way), it is small, very private, beautiful quite beach and wonderful people running it.
Plan for a adventure trip via boat to the island (for us it was the small boat bringing all stuff to the island) - it is the right start

We have only had dinner here, but it's a great place. The staff is very friendly, helpful and speak good English, best staff in Thailand! They helped us out with our travel plans and served us some wonderful meals. We got a quick peek in the bungalows and they look lovely. Would definitely stay here next time.

Very beautiful and quiet place on a small fishermen's island. The staff is friendly, the food is tasty, the houses are very nice. There's maximum a dozen of tourists living here. You can take an excursion by longboat to the national park on the islands.

Tranquil and hospitable is how we would like to describe this place. It is run by a Thai family from the mainland and their story how they got to Phaluai sounds almost magical, a fortune teller was involved ????.

This is a perfect place if you need to slow down and if you seek a close to nature experience.

The resort is special. Its facilities are mediocre, but the host family is honestly interested in making you feel welcome.

You can have amazing massages on your own porch or in the garden enjoying 180° of Angthong National greatness facing the ocean.

Wildlife is mostly undisturbed. We saw an eagle and plenty of hornbills on the island. Nut the host said there were pink dolphins in the area and we saw about five of them exploring the island by boat.

There are occasionally scorpions which is freaky but a sign that nature is in balance, too.

You can rent motorbikes for 250 baht a day or use the complimentary free bikes to cycle to places.

Internet is a bit flimsy but works and the seafood is amazing.

Depending on the wind, the side of the island facing mainland has a garbage problem, because a lot of plastic and other conveniences is blown o the beaches. However we never found such an amazing variety of shellfish though we as a family have already undertaken a great amount of travelling.

The place could put in some more effort in becoming a role model in sustainability, banning all sorts of throw away utensils, such as plastic cups, straws, prepacked food, canned sodas and other items etc.

We loved that the biggest part of the electricity comes from wind and solar energy.

The owner, Nat, will do anything she can to help make your experience as good as it can be. When we went, there were issues with the ferry. Completely out of her control but she advised us the best she could. It did mean we had to leave a day sooner but she refused to charge us for the night we missed. The food is awesome, you have access to kayaks, a scooter is only 250baht a day. You only have access to electricity during the night as it is an eco resort, but it is lovely to unplug from society even if it is only during the day. Good WiFi at night and in the mornings.
The bungalows have open air showers, which is a fab idea.
All in all we loved this resort. A real, get away from it all. Shame she is having assures with getting people to and from the resort.

Wonderful experience with the best host family that you can imagine!
The locally owned resort can accommodate around 20 guests but we were only 4 to a maximum of 6 guests as it was quite off-season. Rooms are basic wooden huts without air con (only fan) but quite modern. The food served in the restaurant is very affordable and good quality (locals and the mom are cooking).

The island is very beautiful and it is not very touristy due to its size and location. Half of the island Ko Phaluai is a national park which you can partly enter, especially for a paradise beach. A ferry goes to island everyday and you can combine it with trips to Ko Samui and Pha-ngan. Day tours in the Ang Thong National Park can be also organized from the resort!
