You could hear the rats in the walls, first room we were given stank horribly of rat poison, we complained and were upgraded to a better room, hence the second star in my rating, but it was only marginally better. We moved to a place further inland after a few nights here and were much happier there. This hotel is central to town (restaurants, massages, travel agencies, etc) but it's at least a 30+ minute walk to the beach.

The first thing we experienced was the unfriendly staff. There was a man who was supposed to welcome us. The only thing he did was smoking cigarettes and watching tv. When we paid for the room he went to clean it since it was all dusty and full of ants. We entered the room and immediately killed one of the many cockroaches we witnessed during the two nights stay. We spent the day outside and when we came back we realised that the room is again full of ants. We didn’t have any food in the house or the luggage. The ants were everywhere in the room as well as in our luggage. In the morning we woke up only to see that there is no breakfast. When asked why, the old man said that we were 5 minutes late and breakfast time is over which is very strange since we were the only guests in the hostel and the time was 9:00 am. That actually was not a great concern since the next breakfast appeared to be one egg and one slice of bread - deeeeelicious. He was just too lazy to male it the other day.
To sum up - cockroaches, ants and a grumpy old man. Not worth the money.

Bloke who runs the place is super nice and accomodating, rooms are a little tired and old but can't complain for that price. I fell ill with food poisoning and he let me lounge around the place after checking out and even offered me medicine. Would recommend.

Room was damp and had a really strong chemical smell. The wardrobe stank! And there was loads of dead spiders in the drawers. Not very clean and for €21 a night was very overpriced

We didn't stay at this hostel. We saw that there was a room available in booking and decided to go there ourselves and ask for it instead of booking last minute, not sure if they really check online bookings so quickly. At the beginning they asked for more money than the price booking says and then they said they don't have a room and sent us to another place which we didn't rent as well.

The best place I been here in Thailand. Very friendly personal, clean and pretty big room, next to the pier but calm. Very good!
