This place is open to visit and has many interesting features like the pictorial display of the 24 gratitudes, the Zhong Sun garden, and Statues of Chinese Philosophers Confucious and Lao Tzu. The Center piece is the large statue above a pond of Kwan Yin (Goddess of Mercy). There are information boards around the site in English. I actually thought this site was more interesting than the nearby Big Buddha site.

Very nice place. Now it close but you can visit. The door is always open. Nice especially you like Chinese culture.

Although a relatively smaller temple it’s dedicated to Chinese Guan Yu, the courageous! There is a lot of history about the Chinese emperors and warlords. The story is a multilingual and captions on the many illustrations on the walls. Several other places with deities for worship, scenes from historical or mythical tales and serene ponds and gardens. Further up the hill is the Big Buddha so don’t stop your walk here!

Monastery? I saw no monks ... It's more of a shrine, or rather a collection of shrines, honoring some of the Immortals of Chinese history, philosophy and religious worship. There's a shrine honoring Lao-Tse, writer of the Tao Teh Ching which is the first book of Taoism; another for Confucius, yet another for Guan Yu who rebuilt the Yuan Dynasty, and several others, including a large statue of Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy ... the surprise for me was finding a large sunken garden in the middle, dominated by a bronze statue of Sun Yat-Sen, which was surrounded with some of his sayings.

If you're headed for the Big Buddha, this is nearby, and worth visiting in its own right.
