Warning this place is a scam - absolutely not what was advertised. If you're looking for a nice place to stay while in Bangkok, there are many more hotels that are better priced than Adelphi Suites. Be careful because your booking is non refundable!!!
I am a remote worker and I was looking for somewhere in the heart of Bangkok to spend my time, the photos of the hotel looked acceptable however don't trust photos their photos!
Upon arrival I discovered my room was inundated with road noise. I also noticed the room was kind of dirty with surfaces not being wiped and the bathroom sink having an off smell.
The hotel resembles a cheap dingy hotel you'd only stay for a night in - but Adelphi prices that as much as a 5 star hotel. The clientele this hotel attracts becomes apparent pretty quickly, and you can certainly hear it through the paper thin uninsulated walls.
The air conditioner didn't work very well - either freezing the room or not doing anything. The gym is small and has no free weights, the remaining machines are in disrepair with the exercise cycles not even being powered.
The pool smells unmaintained and has a fishy odor. I wouldn't swim in it.
The room features a small workarea that has a carve out. You couldn't comfortably set up a laptop in this area. The edges of the "desk" are also sharp and will cut into your forearms. The seat is too high/desk is too low so your knees won't fit under the desk.
The stovetop was rusty and was either at 1000% or 0%. The hotel restaurant is expensive compared to the bar next door and not friendly to patrons who want to sit there and work on their laptops. If you're not buying food and drinks, you are not welcome.
During the night, the fire alarm flashes like a siren every 7 seconds. It's bright enough that you need an eye mask to ignore it. Make sure to bring an eye mask and earplugs if you stay here.
Finally the area is a red light district, I was assaulted on the alley way the hotel is on and that was the final straw - I no longer wanted to stay there. I asked the hotel manager if I could cancel my remaining stay. They refused. I asked if they would be willing to refund half of my remaining stay. They refused.
I checked out early and went to a nicer hotel in Sathorn - upon checking out they still had the gaul to charge me for a 150 thb drink I ordered on the first night when they simultaneously refused to compromise on refunding any amount of the 30k thb in my remaining stay.
