When I arrived at Villa Phra Sumen I was surprised by the friendliness of the staff and was amazed by the place. If you want to spend a few days enjoying the tranquility accompanied by friends or your partner, it is the ideal place. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings and are tastefully decorated (Thai dressers, wooden ceiling) and mini bar with drinks. I loved the shower , whose dream was ceramic tiles with starry geometric pattern ) the place is very clean and tidy . The pool and gardens are an oasis in the heart of Bangkog. The combination of traditional Thai wooden architecture and decoration with contemporary architecture, with colonial touches (antique sideboards and armchairs, crystal chandelier, Asian ceramics, etc.) make this hotel a reference. You can also enjoy delicious breakfasts in the gardens (fruit, smoothies, juices, tea, curry, sandwiches, etc). The night illumination of the gardens and the background music, the sounds of the leaves of the trees and banana trees and birds .... is striking. In short , a cozy place intimate and magic quite economical . I felt at home. Please tip the workers there, they are wonderful.

Wonderful time spent in a charming hotel in the old part of Bangkok. We enjoyed everything about the hotel. A beautiful pool with a colorful garden outside.
The rooms was new and clean and the girls working at the reception were fantastic and helpful. We liked it so much that we extended our stay:)
I definitely recommend it if you are looking for a room white visiting Bangkok, it's really worth it!:)

Would ABSOLUTELY stay again. We planned on staying one night and stayed 2. Rooms are hip, quiet and comfortable. Showers are amazing, staff is kind and they have a pool. Also a nice bonus is craft beer in the lobby! Very safe and clean. Worth the money!

It was an amazing experience staying at this hotel.

The room was super clean and spacious. it didn't feel stuffy at all because of the high ceiling and big windows.
Plus, the smell of the room was so good that i wanted to take this smell back home!
What made this hotel even more special was the pool that was so pretty and peaceful.

When it comes to breakfast, the food was not bad but I wish it had a bigger portion.

It's only 8 minute walk away from Khaosan road, I highly recommend this hotel for people who want to explore this area and enjoy night-out at Kaosan road!

Nice hotel, clean, spacious room (standard garden view king bed), free water every day, nice pool...
BUT walls are very thin, so you can hear the people in the next room shower, talk, rummaging around and of course you get woken up by other (inconsiderate) guest who come home in the middle of the night and make noise.
Also no metrostation close by, which makes getting around a bit harder, especially since the hotel does not call taxis unless you want to go to the airport. That I found really annoying.
Khao San Road is in walking distance.

Beautiful small hotel but while our stay it was full of loud kids that screamed on the corridors and swimming pool from early morning to almost 23pm. We had to go down to reception to beg the receptionist to please ask them to be quiet one night as it was impossible to sleep.
We don't understand why the staff allowed this as the screams and noise could be well heard even from the top floors and it was a time where silence should be taken care of.
The pillows should also be renewed as they are full of bumps and the shower kept on flooding the bathroom as the glass pane has a gap on the bottom.
Also they make yoy pay for everything upfront, even breakfast.
We don't recommend it if you want a quiet place. The kids and their parents lack on manners, which is not the hotels fault, but the staff should have avoided the loud noise at some point.

This is an amazing beautiful oasis close to the old city. Superfriendly service and owners! Delicious drinks and cake :)))

Pro tips: between 5 and 10 am try the yummie kanom krok from the streetvendor on the street, or walk 5 min to take a boat on the khlong to the east, right into Sukhumvit.
