I've visited Ramasun three times now, since when friends visit Udon they want to see it, and are always glad they did. It's an unusual museum and it was an unusual facility when it operated during the Vietnam War. The war had a major impact on Udon Thani, even though that is mostly ignored at the Udon Thani City Museum.

They do sell souvenirs and I always buy something, but it's a very small selection that changes every time I visited. The video presentation given at the beginning of the tour is nicely done and informative.

Walking around the facility is kind of fascinating, and even younger Thai people I know who have visited said they were glad they went. It's local history, after all.

Very small museum, but I think it is worth a visit. Costs 50 THB for foreigners and it is on the way back to Udon Thani from the Red Lotus Lake. I wouldn't go out of my way for it, but I am very glad I stopped by.

When we were there there was nothing in English and a very kind employee translated what he could for us. We would have liked to buy some souvenirs but were told that was closed. Hopefully they become available online in the future.

A nice museum made at a historical site. It was a radio research station used by US forces during Vietnam war which US forces used actively for wireless communications and interceptions. A secret location then has now been made a museum around two years ago. Some restoration work is still going on, however a place of interest if you are passing by.
