Don't waste your time. I asked the receptionist if there was a room available and she confirmed that there was and asked me to fill in the check-in form. However, I wanted to know the answer to a question first. She doesn't speak any English which is fine as this is just a small hotel in Thailand so I asked her the question in Thai. She phoned two people to try to get the answer to my question and then opened a phrasebook and read out: "sorry our hotel is full tonight", which was obviously a complete lie. If you can't help, why not just say so? Why throw a cheap shot like that? It's totally unprofessional and disrespectful. On my way out I noticed an extremely loud barking dog opposite the hotel so I'm glad I didn't stay here. There are much better places to stay in Ubon.
