I’m a loyal customer of this store for a year now, have been visiting regularly. I’ve bought from coffee to Starbucks teddy bears, cups and wallets from this store. I’m familiar with many of the old staff and I also recognize the manager- a mean looking Thai woman who rarely makes effort to greet. Lately when I go to this store I go with my daughter who is one year old. Since my daughter loves the Starbucks teddy bears she has at home, she recognizes the bears at this store and every time when I go there I would let her hold the bear briefly while I wait for the coffee, then I would return the bear to the shelf before we leave. The staff have been very friendly and understanding, they always talk to me and my daughter in a genuine manner.
Today I went there ordered two latte to take away, while I was waiting for the coffee, my daughter was playing with the bear in her stroller. When my order was ready, I was going to return the bear before I take my coffee. At that moment, the manager rushed to me, frowning and was reaching her hand to the bear that my one year old was holding, saying Sorry, you didn’t pay for it, you can’t take it away. I’m sure she recognized me as an old customer. I was shocked and felt very insulted. Of all these times I purchased from this store, she knows I’m a regular customer, yet, her mean Thai money-mind thinks that I wanted to steal a toy, she couldn’t help herself. This time, she lost me. I’m never going back there again. Starbucks should not let mean people become a manager.
