We stayed 3 nights in the Phuket Center Hotel (apparently it has changed its name into hotel) on the upper 5th floor where the suite category is located.
Pros:
- the room and the public areas are clean.
- the housekeeping department came on a daily basis to change the towels. It seems they have more large towels than small ones, because after the first day the small ones were gone without replacement. The big towels were more important anyway and with a set of extra floor mats we managed anyway.
- upon arrival the front office lady asked if we preferred a king-size bed or rather two single beds. Apparently one has a choice. Nice service! The mattress was luckily pretty hard, but that's just our personal preference.
-the shower has warm water. Read somewhere the showers would be cold. At least this was not the case in our room.
- the hotel does have an elevator. Read somewhere they wouldn't have one. It's a single, small elevator but it's better than climbing the stairs to the 5th floor.
- it's the first city hotel I have seen with a multi-storey car park, which is free of charge. The car park is big enough and it's safe. Moreover, each floor connects directly to the corresponding hotel floor. Park your car, get your stuff and walk straight to your room! I think that's fabulous.
- the TV has loads of international channels, even a Dutch one ????
- although the hotel is at the heart of the city the location is very quiet, no noise whatsoever.
Cons:
- maybe it's not a real con, rather more a particularity. The suites have a kitchenette. I assumed it would be equipped with the basics of a kitchen. Our kitchenette had a microwave, 2 plates, 2 spoons, 2 forks and 2 water glasses. In the supermarket right next door we had to buy detergent, a sponge and an opener, to be able to have breakfast at "home". The fork we used as a knife. Btw, the public cooking area at the 3rd floor of the car park was another positive discovery, as cooking in Asia often involves frying. No hotel owner is fond of the grease and smells in the rooms and it's also way more safe to cook outside the main building.
Conclusion:
A great value for money and next time in Phuket we'll stay again in Phuket Center Hotel!
Thank you for the wonderful service during these very busy Festival ค่ะ.
