We stayed for almost 2 weeks and enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotell every single day. Our rooms were big and had everything we needed including a washing machine, big refrigerator so that we could buy things from the supermarket if needed. The view is right out to the Andaman sea and is AMAZING! The hotel staff were so kind and helpful and took care of us in a wonderful way.
The hotel offers free shuttles to the sister hotel Cape Panwa where you can enjoy a wonderful beach, restaurants, pools and many other amazing facilities.
It was our first time visiting Thailand but it won't be the last, and when we return, it will definitely be to Kantary Bay!

We booked the Ocean View room and it was more like an apartment, we could not believe how beautiful it was. And it had all the amenities you need for an enjoyable stay. The bed was super comfortable but for us the highlight was sitting out on the balcony enjoying a drink and just watching out over the bay, wonderful views and so relaxing. They have a swimming pool, a little on the small size but suited us perfectly as there were not too many guests during our stay there. For breakfast you will be shuttled by an oversize song taew to the Cape Panwa resort just up the hill. The buffet breakfast here was outstanding. A great choice of dishes and all fresh and tasty. There is an agreement in place where the Kantary Bay Hotel guests are able to use the swimming pools at the Cape Panwa also, and they are beautiful pools. The beach is only a short walk from the hotel but the area surrounding the hotel is fairly quiet (some establishments still closed account Covid) although there are several bar/restaurants within walking distance and you can buy street food out front after 5pm. There is also a little mini mart and café just next door. You can have food delivered from the café to your room if you so wish. The staff at the Kantary Bay were excellent, friendly, attentive and efficient. All in all we had the most wonderfully relaxing stay and considering the price we paid, the value was just outstanding. We look forward to returning and cannot recommend this place highly enough if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing break.

I spent 7 days in kanatry! it was amazing!!! very quiet and beautiful place! I lived in an apartment with a kitchen and a washing machine, it helped me a lot. I had access to the cape panwa hotel, there I was at the private beach, restaurants, spa. the food in both hotels is just great! I highly recommend it!!!! I'll go back there many more times! staff is very responsible and helpful, I didn't want to leave the hotel area! It was wondering experience, thank you!

A well-maintained old hotel with impeccable service

The hotel is far from being new. But it's well-maintained and has spacious rooms which we really appreciate.

The best part is the hotel's professional service from booking until leaving the hotel. We booked the hotel through Thai government's เราเที่ยวด้วยกัน (Travel together) campaign but faced several problems in the process. Khun Bow (a reservation staff there) was especially patient and helpful. This created a great impression even before our trip began. Once there, we weren't disappointed. Not only that our rooms got upgraded to sea view rooms right away, whenever we want to go to Cape Panwa Hotel to use facilities there, the hotel immediately contact the shuttle bus for us. Breakfast at Cape Panwa was great with plenty of options to choose for. I did not feel bored eating there two days in a row. The cafe at Kantary bay hotel was also decent. It was reasonably priced and although my truffle mushroom pasta wasn't very satisfying, the seafood pizza was enjoyable and the exotic fruit crepe was really tasty as well as refreshing.

The reason why one star is deducted is the hotel's lack of accessibility for wheelchair users. The hotel's front features two levels of stairs before reaching the elevator (which is a weird design in my opinion). Plus, the first stair was very steep and my elder relatives who went there all suffered from its height. This is a real pity, as the high stairs disencourage them from walking down to enjoy the beautiful sea view in front of the hotel.

When I was very young, my parents took me on a family holiday to stay here for the first time. After that, we went back regularly as it quickly became a family favourite and, as a result, tied into my nostalgic memories of childhood. Recently, my dad and I went back for the first time in many years and, unlike many places that one visits after growing up, it did not disappoint. In all the important ways - the feelings of safety and relaxation, the peaceful atmosphere - the place has not changed. That is not to say they haven't looked after it! On the contrary, it is well kept and they have even had some renovations done, which can be seen on their website photos. This is one of the rare cases where I would say the hotel website does the best job at representing the reality of what the rooms look like. The fact that the rooms have kitchens perfectly kits this place out for long stays and makes it all the more convenient for shorter stays. Importantly, the beds are very comfortable and the place is clean (my dad and I both have dust allergies so it's easy to tell when a place is or isn't clean).

In terms of things to do, you could stroll around their beautiful gardens filled with diverse Thai flora, or swim in one of the many pools accessible to you as a guest, you could walk the pier and visit the aquarium and marine research centre (only a short 5 minute walk away). In the morning, the Kantary Cafe serves affordable coffee and some very tasty ice cream. They also make delicious food and their cakes look divine. There is also the option of using the facilities of the Cape Panwa Hotel, of which there are many including pools, restaurants, a beach, bars, a board game room etc. The Cape Panwa Hotel (the Kantary Bay Hotel's partner) resides just over the hill and there is a regular shuttle bus that travels between the two in case you can't manage the climb. On the days you want a bit of exercise, the climb may even be welcome! The neighbourhood comes alive at night with a street market where you can pick up some classic street food and snacks. If this quiet little corner of Phuket is a too quiet for you at times, there is the option of renting a car or a motorbike from one of the nearby businesses. If in doubt, I'm sure the Bay Hotel staff could help you figure out transport (where to rent, how to do so) should you want to travel a bit. Within a short driving distance, there are many things to do and see. I would recommend the Phuket 'Old Town'. The museum is very interesting and there are a plethora of cafes, restaurants and shops to browse.

On top of all this, the staff make this place truly special. Everybody, from the cleaning staff to the desk managers to the those that work in the Bay Hotel offices, are incredibly thoughtful, kind and caring. Their hard work and dedication to their guests and to the hotel keep the place running smoothly and keeps you feeling safe and welcome the whole time.

Overall, I highly recommend this place, not just because I have fond memories, but also because it's excellent value for money and a wonderful way to spend your time if you're looking to relax by the sea and sand. Plus, there's a reason why I have fond memories in the first place!

Nice room with practical kitchen, washing machine and sea view, shared facilities and breakfast with Cape Panwa Hotel. Nice cafe in front of the hotel. Drive for 15 minutes to Phuket old town.
