Very nice place to learn about the history of shadow puppets and to learn all the common characters. They have a small souvenir shop but there is no charge to visit the museum.

The best place to learn about the history of shadow puppets in Thailand, museum is free to enter and for a small donation they'll put on a 20 minute little play, the owners are incredibly friendly and helpful as well and happy to share their knowledge with everyone who visits. Lovely little cafe as well that serves great drinks.

This is a gem of Southern Thai history and a really unique experience. They have puppets here that are 200 years old and you can see puppets from different periods. The lady there answered all my questions about the history of shadow puppets and their role in southern culture. She also gave us a demonstration of how they make puppets and my kids were able to make their own (from cardboard). A great little shop where you can purchase puppets or beautifully intricate decorative pictures made from the same hide. Definitely recommend.

The Shadow Puppet Museum is well hidden in one of the small streets. There are a few Google locations which are wrong, just keep trying and you will find this little gem.

The museum is run by a family of puppet masters, and there is a beautiful collection of puppets on display, as well as the home workshops where the masters painstakingly build the puppets.

Fees for visiting the display is by donation (a box is placed near the entrance), and with 50 baht per person, they would put up a 20 minute sample puppet show. Our children totally enjoyed the unique experience and learned to appreciate this ancient art more during this visit.

It's a gem that concealed by modern nakhonsi, the museum is homely and the person in charge were very helpful to explained how the puppet were produced. It was free entry and free explanation. It would be great if information is in English so it benefits those who don't read Thai.

Loved the place that had well preserved history about puppets. Collection of antiques. Also had an opportunity to see making of the puppets and the art of engraving on leather. They have lot of artwork for sale at a very reasonable price. Sadly we could not see the shadow puppet show for want of time. A must visit place.

This project is very small, I visited here with two children. I told the children that this is the oldest cartoon, but the children's interest in this is obviously more than ordinary TV cartoons, and the children are surprised at everything. The host performed a special performance for us, 15 minutes. 200 baht. I think it's worth it. In subsequent trips, the children remembered this interesting performance and often talked about this topic with me.
