Nice place and location, but food is rather bland
Aning is one of the fanciest restaurants in Ao Nang, with real napkins, nice cutlery and very attentive service. They even have live music at night and a very diverse menu of European, Thai, Mexican and pizza.
It's a really good place for a glass of wine and to do some people watching, unfortunately the quality of the food does in no way justify the huge price tag.
We were lucky enough to visit during the low season when they give discounts on food and offer some drink specials.
But even with the discounts the prices are still higher than in most other places around, which i wouldn't mind if the food was any good.
Unfortunately the Thai appetizer platter consisted mainly of soggy and oily fried bits and pieces. The prawns were small, the spring rolls bland.
The seafood pizza came from the wood-fired oven with thin crust, but again, the toppings were bland. Not that the food was bad, it was just really average and boring, and certainly not worth the premium regular prices they charge here which is a shame because it's an otherwise really nice, inviting restaurant with the best service i experienced in Ao Nang
