NOISY, very limited parking, they charged us 100 extra for two pillows, the "free" breakfast buffet was so unappealing that I skipped breakfast (cold fried eggs, cabbage/carrot soup, cheap white bread toast, blah, blah, blah), and the surrounding area could not have been more dreadful! The roads are all bad and barely wide enough for two cars to pass (not the hotel's fault) and there are endless restaurants/bars all blaring music and making noise. This is not the hotel's fault, but when my Thai wife arranged this place, she said our absolute top priority was peace u0026 quiet. We were duped. There was nothing peaceful or relaxing about this area. Abandoned dogs are everywhere (very sad). It's hard to have an enjoyable vacation with everything we dealt with for our one-night there. We were planning in staying three nights. We left first thing in the morning after one night.
We had a really nice hotel in Udon for 300 baht more than The Charm. This place would be over-priced at 500 baht, but we paid 900 baht. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SHOPPING AROUND FOR ACCOMMODATIONS. IF YOU WANT A PEACEFUL STAY AT A NICE HOTEL, THIS ISN'T THE PLACE. I've lived in Thailand for 30 years. I don't give bad reviews, but when I do, it's with good reason. I don't recall ever giving a 1 star review.
