First impression was from a Facebook group post - the food shown in the post literally made me hungry enough to water at the mouth.

Second impression was, wow, great location - centrally located in Khon Kaen City, Thailand.

Then I went inside. I'll try to keep this brief. I had good first impressions before I entered the restaurant, and was even more impressed when I went inside. It is a relatively new location for King Kong Restaurant Khon Kaen, and it has been beautifully renovated and furnished. Very comfortable, family style restaurant offering both Thai and "foreign" food - i.e. burgers, lasagna, enchiladas... an impressive menu available here on Google Maps or on Facebook.

Then I was greeted by the proprietor, Mr. Jim Kong. A very friendly, cheerful guy. He made me feel welcome. I have no complaints whatsoever as to the place itself, the friendly staff, or the service.

To me, good service has always been equally important, if not more important, than the taste of the food itself and the portion size.

From this my first experience of the restaurant, I have NO complaints. The food was delicious. The portions were sufficient to fill me up and satisfy my craving for a REAL burger.

If I could give this restaurant a 6th star, I would.

As I said to Jim as I was leaving, 2 thumbs up, 5 stars, no question.

I highly recommend this restaurant.

Outstanding establishment in Khon Kaen. Food is excellent with Western (American/British/Australian), European, Italian, Mexican, Thai cuisines.

Staff are amazingly hospitable, generous, and welcoming.

Excellent value for money.

Location is a little hard to find, but find on map app, and follow the directions on your device.

Will be back again!

Quite possibly the best steak and burger we have had in issan. Top quality and great service here. Oh and the milkshakes are delicious too.

This is the only steak I have had in Thailand that is on par with Americas best ie Ruth Chris's Steakhouse. 800 g. of " Beef Nirvana " , fresh, tender, juicy and flavorful. Thanks Jim u0026 Tae ! Both my wife and grandson were well fed yet I was too preoccupied with my Massive thick steak to even notice what they were having. Greg u0026 Gigi / Khon Kaen

We went there last night, because of the reviews, at first look pulling up wasnt sure if we should acctually go in. But glad we did, we had the chicken with cashew, pork grilled esan salad and mashed potatoe and gravy. Everything was delicous, you can eat out side or in, we elected inside, and the washroom for Thai standard was clean. Over all was a good dining experince and will be back.

Best English breakfast in Khon Kaen and best lunch in Khon Kaen too..... We were passing through town as we have done every few weeks for many years and saw King Kong Restaurant had a promo running for breakfast and lunch midweek and thought why not.
My mate ordered the full English breakfast and I got the breakfast burrito. Both were spectacular. The burrito was stuffed with sausage, tomato and scrambled eggs and the English breakfast was just like back home. We have eaten many breakfasts in Thailand and quite a few in Khon Kaen and these were top notch. Sausages were authentic UK style, beans were imported, bacon was proper middle bacon and everything was cooked perfectly.
I had never eaten a breakfast burrito before but I definitely will again.
Great job guys and I will definitely be back for the lunch specials. That Chicken fillet burger with fries or mash for only 109 is too good to pass up and the Bottomless Coffee and tea deal is perfect for chilling out and watching the sports or a movie on the TV's until we can have alcohol again. The huge selection of imported spirits they have is calling my name lol.
