Be careful when visiting this temple. The roads are steep up the hill. But once up there, it's really very nice! When you visit it, do not miss the chance of taking pictures on the staircase. It overlooks a lot of the mountains and village below.

I would agree with the last reviewer regarding advice to come early. I arrived at 9.30am and it was already busy.
Following previous visit, arrived at 6.30am to see the dawn and sunrise. Worth getting up early for.
This place presents a wonderful collection of Temple buildings with numerous Shrines, Buddha Statues and great views across Chiang Mai and beyond. Easy to spend a good hour here enjoying seeing everything on the site. Free to visit.

Fabulous scenery and great place to make a wish! many Thai people coming here to make a wish and they got their wishes came true. But you have to walked inside in order to see that Buddha image. But if your wish come true you have to come back with at least 50 fresh jasmine garland.

This would be a 5star review anywhere, but probably in CM there are nicer temples. Still a beautiful complex, but maybe i just way too hugh expectations.
There is a nice view, plenty of small shops, temple, stupa and several statues spread all over the property.
The big painting by the parking lot was probably my favorite spot

The Wat Phra That Doi Kham is an attractive not much visited temple known for its 17 meters high Buddha image. The temple that was built towards the end of the 7th century sits on top of a forested hill just outside of Chiang Mai. The name of the Wat means golden mountain temple.

The temples were beautiful as were the Buddha statues. For Hindus, you will be happy to see Ganesha as well as Shivan there as well. Two temples also depict the story of Buddha which was well painted.

Nice well maintained temple.
Also a few stalls on the way to the temple with souvenirs, food and drinks.
If you are not a Buddhist you can sightsee the temple in about 1 hour.
