A friend of mine is a rock music fan and dragged me here to listen to a Pink Floyd cover band. Happy hour last until 10pm where a small Chang is 60 Baht instead of 80 Baht. There's outdoor seating for smokers. Inside there are ceiling fans and a toilet. There's also free wifi. The normal music there was a bit too heavy and loud (90 to 100 decibels according to the meter on the wall). The band arrived and played quite well. They didn't do many PF songs though. They were very good.

Great little Rock and metal bar. Show up early for the happy hour specials if you are cutting costs, see attached picture for happy hour prices. Staff are friendly and were even open to music requests before thr live band showed up. Toilet facilities are awful so be prepared to go to another nearby bar if being sat down to go is needed.

Super Fun 80's Rock Vibe!

The cover bands we saw at Pentatonic Rock Bar were lively, engaging and super fun. It was a great place to grab cold beer, including craft beer, and offered a more affordable option compared to the others in the area. Lovely place to swing around on the dance floor, and meet other like-minded travelers. Definitely worth a visit!

Great rock u0026 metal bar in the center of Chiang Mai old city. Very kind owners and good prices. There you can listen both metal and rock music (they accept petitions). At 10 p.m. performs a local band with some great covers. I'm not sure if the band performs every night (we went on Thursday). Happy hour every day before 9:30 p.m.

And you can play pool for free with any drink!

We had a great evening in this small bar, if you love rock , but mostly Metal music come here, very cool cover bands..very good players, on our evening we saw 2 bands..and they were amazingly good..u know playing Dimebag Darrell solos isn't that easy..Ozzy , black Sabbath, system of a down, deep purple , gun's..shall I carry on? Just go, standard prices for booze

Great band, fair drink prices. Seems like the Reggae Bar fills up earlier, so maybe go there first then come here at the end of the night. We went a couple times and the first night was poppin', the second time there were only a few people dancing. Such a shame everything closes at midnight, just about the time people really start showing up.

Love this place. The bands are generally entertaining and like some previous reviewers said, it's one of the few spots in chill Chiang Mai where you can headbang to anxious metal anthems. Unfortunately drinks are hit-or-miss, but outdoor seating and the rockin' vibe make up for a lack of creativity in the cocktail department.
