It’s great to see the art and outside the room decoration but I wouldn’t recommend this hotel since the quality of the rest didn’t justify. Shower is horrible. Water is weak and isn’t consistent so you get alternate cold water and very hot. Breakfast’s not good, wiped the tomato and it was dusty, found a cockroach walking in seating area. We went out for breakfast instead. Service is not very friendly neither. Hotel doesn’t have elevator, my parents had a hard time with stairs (one part without hand rails). The location is good but just that you find many other good hotels. I’d add 500 THB more and get a much better one.

This is one of the most delightful places I have ever stayed. The interior is at the same time both simple and fascinating. The subtle lighting combined with the amazing huge artistic original canvases and hangings are both relaxing and stunning. The feeling of spaciousness, the balcony guest area with interesting books and free hot drinks and large open art gallery style landings all contribute to the ambience. The rooms are clean and tastefull with modern air conditioning and bathrooms. The only slight negative is the breakfast coffee but the are many excellent places for breakfast and coffee near by so this isn't a problem. I will certainly stay here again.

Location and design are perfect. The suite is spacious and cute. Simple breakfast in a chill, semi-open dining area.

It is not often that I have to provide a low rating, but this place certainly deserves it. On the positive side the art and decoration is magnificent (and this is were you got your second star from). This pains me even more, as you could make a true diamond out of the hotel. It starts with bad service personal. Don't expect that you are greeted, just because you walk in the door. In Thailand, the land of smiles, I found the place, where smiling does not seem very common. Moving on to the rooms: it is a nice idea to offer slippers. If the a multiple use, fine that's helping the environment, but please have the decency to wash them to prevent them getting filthy. At least they are in optical symbiosis with the mold in the shower. Last but not least: the breakfast: Also here the breakfast room is nice, but the breakfast is a joke. It would be better to simply not offer any breakfast, than try and fail miserably. You might have gotten my subtle hint: I cannot recommend this hotel and will not come back again.

Great hotel to stay directly in Nimman Heamin area. Everything is very close to the hotel. Rooms are very nice and quiet. Free beverages upstairs for customers. Great price. We will come again:) thank you very much Chaiyo.

Ps. It’s a great photo location ;)

I've stayed at this hotel several times over the past few years - back in 2015 it was lovely with modern rooms and up-to-date facilities. It could be that I was always staying in the balcony rooms before. This time, I stayed at a standard non-balcony room and it was less spacious, there are only two power outlets squeezed in between one of the beds and the window, the shower always runs too hot and the drain gets clogged easily. Even the toilet flush isn't as strong as the ones in the balcony rooms. The non-balcony room still has windows, though they look right into the back of another boutique hotel on soi 3. If you do choose to stay here (it IS a great location), go for the balcony rooms.

One thing that definitely worsened however is the wifi. I never recalled it being this problematic, with weak signal (despite five different networks) and the need to re-log in several times a day.

Located in the shopping and dining area of Ninman Soi 5 (Lane 5/street 5). So amenities wise, you don't have to worry.

Upon entering this quaint hotel, you will be treated to a visual feast of paintings, artistic decorations and wooden furniture. The staff are friendly and registration is hassle free.

If you are used to living in luxurious and spacious hotels and wanted a more value for money (without compromising quality accomodation) you will be comforted by chaiyo's very cosy and artsy environment. The rooms have simple and warm layout. The rooms are clean. The staff will clean the room promptly when you put the sign on the door before you go out of the hotel. You can also open windows to let fresh air inside the room.

Cons:

-There is no elevator in the hotel . You might want to request for a 2nd storey room or pack a small luggage.

- There is no laundry service available in this hotel. But you can go to Soi 9 (Street 9)in the Ninman neighbourhood to look for a laundry shop which charges around 100 baht for laundry.

-You might have to pay for additional service like extra towels and pillows but the staff will lend you a 2 pin plug (the room only has 2 pin plug socket ) for free if you need to charge your laptop and mobile phone battery.

- The breakfast is not as good as I imagined. You have only 2 choices. But it's free, so I can't complain. They will serve bread, salad, coffee and juices but you have to make them yourself (e. g. Toaster and coffee machine is available)

- The air-conditioner can be really cold even at 27 degrees Celsius.

- As Chaiyo Chiangmai Hotel is situated near the dining and shopping district, it can be noisy with human and road traffic.

- you may need to walk a few lanes to find the nearest 7 eleven convenience store.

Overall, it is a great cosy and comfortable hotel to stay in! I guess I will be coming back!
