Located in the shopping and dining area of Ninman Soi 5 (Lane 5/street 5). So amenities wise, you don't have to worry.
Upon entering this quaint hotel, you will be treated to a visual feast of paintings, artistic decorations and wooden furniture. The staff are friendly and registration is hassle free.
If you are used to living in luxurious and spacious hotels and wanted a more value for money (without compromising quality accomodation) you will be comforted by chaiyo's very cosy and artsy environment. The rooms have simple and warm layout. The rooms are clean. The staff will clean the room promptly when you put the sign on the door before you go out of the hotel. You can also open windows to let fresh air inside the room.
Cons:
-There is no elevator in the hotel . You might want to request for a 2nd storey room or pack a small luggage.
- There is no laundry service available in this hotel. But you can go to Soi 9 (Street 9)in the Ninman neighbourhood to look for a laundry shop which charges around 100 baht for laundry.
-You might have to pay for additional service like extra towels and pillows but the staff will lend you a 2 pin plug (the room only has 2 pin plug socket ) for free if you need to charge your laptop and mobile phone battery.
- The breakfast is not as good as I imagined. You have only 2 choices. But it's free, so I can't complain. They will serve bread, salad, coffee and juices but you have to make them yourself (e. g. Toaster and coffee machine is available)
- The air-conditioner can be really cold even at 27 degrees Celsius.
- As Chaiyo Chiangmai Hotel is situated near the dining and shopping district, it can be noisy with human and road traffic.
- you may need to walk a few lanes to find the nearest 7 eleven convenience store.
Overall, it is a great cosy and comfortable hotel to stay in! I guess I will be coming back!
