The staff very friendly. Great location to all the fields. We got an room upgrade to a wonderful suite. ***agement was quick to resolve any difficulties we encountered. ***y tourist attractions are within walking distance. The beds were large enough to sleep comfortably. Everywhere in the hotel is spotlessly clean.

We stayed at the Suanmali for one night. (were supposed to be staying for 8) thank goodness we didn't book through one of the booking websites but reserved directly through the hotel on the phone! (as we could pull out if we didn't like it)
We had one of the rooms at the back as you enter the hotel. The reasons we decided to go after only one night was that the room was quite noisy well into the early hours as it backs onto noisy bars at the back of the hotel and there was NO INTERNET in the actual room. You have to sit around the pool near the office to get any kind of reception. We mentioned this to management and their attitude was one of complete denial - who cares! The bed also smelled quite mouldy as I think the room had not been occupied for a while. The bathroom was also quite dirty. I wrote 'dirty' with my finger nail on the soap scum on the shower taps backing in the expectation that they clean it. Everything was a bit old and worn out, I think this place has seen better days, but as is often the case here in Thailand things are not maintained.
To end on a positive note the area around the pool in this hotel is lovely and the reason I booked. We were expecting great things as Samui is very competitive and has normally good standards.
We left the very next morning to a much better, cheaper place.

We spent three nights at this hotel as the last leg of our tour. The staff at this hotel could not be more friendly and accommodating for. In fact you can walk to just about anything you need within a few blocks. The rooms are value for money. The building itself is very impressive.

We will go back as soon as we can. I was very fine with the location. The sliding doors open onto the well tended patio garden and pool which is clean and a refreshing change from the beach which is just down a small lane and across the road. Everything was very clean at all times.

Very noisy and not clean. Staff is nice but not helpful at all. It was difficult to obtain service in English.
