Ok, I wanted to give three stars but I am giving four and I will tell you why.
I will start with the positives. Check in was without an issue. Staff helped us carry our bags to the hut we rented. Owners and staff were friendly and helpful, if you smile, they smile back, we had no fights at all. The look of this place is amazing, the colorful huts are great pic for your Instragram and you are basically living on the beach, some lucky huts have sea view. Restaurant food was very good, we didnt go for anything fancy but Pad Thai (I think 80 TBH, decent portion) and other local food is priced reasonably for it being at the restaurant. Breakfast pancakes very good as well. Also you re within walking distance (5-10mins) of Lamai beach which is apparently one of the nice ones on Koh Samui. Also we needed to buy one extra night cause we canceled the place we were supposed to move and the owner found us a new hut without a problem and actually gave us bigger hut then originally promised and for the same price, that was a very kind gesture.
Now the negatives. At the start, lived in a hut A12, its the kind with AC and queen bed with its own bathroom. The biggest problem was a unpleasant chemical smell coming from the bathroom. It was probably from the drain, although I am not sure. Literally when you opened the closed hut in the evening, the smell was very intense, so we had to open doors and set fan on max. At night, we tried to close the bahtroom door and put rug at the bottom of the door to stop the smell, which helped a bit. My clothes after return from vacation still smell of that chemical smell. Our neighbors in the same hut next to us had that smell as well. When we spent our last night in the big hut for 4 people where we were relocated, there was no smell at all.
Another negative is the noise from ACs. If you decide to book the AC hut for two people, bear in mind that each hut has an AC unit from the outside. If you decide to sleep with your window open to hear the sea, you will have loud AC unit humming and rattling throughout the whole night. The huts without ACs are on the opposite side of the camp and its more quiet there.
Last negative is that there is some kind of dirty river flowing behind the camp and it flows in to the sea just on the left side of the camp. So I would recommend walking to Lamai beach, nobody was actually swimming in the sea in front of the accomodation. Its also very shallow there.
Wifi only covers the restaurant and huts that are near. So it is obviously very cheap accomodation so you dont expect Hilton and you get very nice looking restaurant and huts. However the smell inside the hut was my biggest problem and should be removed. I am giving 4 stars because the staff and owner were nice to us and because the Thai food we ordered there was always tasty.
