The owner ruined our night. I would give -100 stars if I could. We had a pup that followed us to the restaurant from our house we stayed in. Our buddy had him around for a week and we were taking care of the dog during our stay. Owner’s dog started charging at the pup and our dog didn’t respond to it, just kept walking with us. When we got into the restaurant we got the dog move away so the owner’s dog doesn’t attack him, he was barking nonstop. Dogs are territorial so it’s understandable. Our pup was calm the whole time, did not engage with the other dog. While we were getting him to stay further from the restaurant, this owner of the restaurant came out of nowhere and hit him on his stomach so hard, you could hear how much the dog must have hurt from that kick. It was unnecessary. I thought he was coming over to handle his dog. He could’ve said something and let us deal with it. I waited him to come closer and told him that he didn’t have to kick the dog. He argued back and said it was his restaurant and he was nobody’s dog. I told him it wasn’t right that he kicked him. He went over a big table where his dog was and started complaining about my reaction. Very unprofessional way of running the business. A couple that witnessed it were upset too. I lost my appetite. All I had was a bottle of water to calm myself but it was just too upsetting, we decided to go somewhere else for dinner. Owner ruined the dinner for us. That was my and my boyfriend’s first night and it wasn’t very pleasant start to our vacation. We avoided that restaurant during our whole stay. We went to this authentic Thai restaurant in the same block (Angels Bay Restaurant) and owner was totally cool with the dog, she let him lay down next to our table without us saying anything and dog was super well behaved even around kids, he did not move the whole time where he laid down. I guess that was the best Thai food we had so far. Very romantic setup, comfy lounge area and tables facing the sunset. Music and the ambience were what we needed. The owner was doing everything front of house by herself, (serves/bartends)and was a super nice girl and attentive. Thanks to her, our night was saved!
