(I’d say it’s a 3-3.5, but because it’s a new owners and I’m hopeful they’ll take the feedback in, I set the rating to a 4.)
If you are looking for a quite sanctuary to chill at, this won’t be it. Constant noises from the outside (I’m not talking about nature) - car and motorbike sounds from the road, unnecessary rooster at 7am, audible chatter from the reception area and early morning screams from the gym area. The hospitality also leaves much to be desired. There were no hand soap or shower gel (shampoo and conditioner were provided tho) in our Superior Chalet, and no drinking water. When we approached the reception if we can refill our water bottles, they said they can’t offer us anything except to buy some water from them. Not what you’d expect from a $50/night experience in Thailand. Judging by the previous reviews, where guests mentioned they were charged to use certain gym equipment, there seems to be a pattern.
Right at the entrance of Bamboo Bay there is a concrete bump, that scratches the bottom of your motorbike each time you are trying to enter the area. And you can’t avoid it. Doesn’t seem to be well thought out, considering that almost everyone is riding a motorbike here.
The chalets themselves are nice, look authentic, clean and have good potential. You can hear nature and ocean, which is nice. Perhaps it’s a great place for someone who’s looking to do personal trainer sessions or go to yoga sessions nearby.
