Qe tried a lot of places. Like we ate 4 times a day. This place was so-so. And every time we ordered something they called someone to bring them ingredients or parts of the dishes. So weird. The mango sticky rice was a no go BUT the fried banana was banging.

Thank goodness they were open. Not many places were open during low season. Plus they had some deals where a fruit shake was 40B and pad thai, spring rolls, fried rice were 60B each. Can't go wrong with that. Plus the food that I did get was good.

Only possible issue was that they are outside with a covering so heat might be an issue. They have fans though. And also since it's outside, flies are another issue.

But despite those minor things, I ate there for lunch almost everyday I was there.

Utopia Bar is a really cool bar which I discovered on my recent trip to the beautiful island of Koh Lanta. They have 'happy hour' all the time so cocktails are only 99baht each which is excellent value, and the beer is also very reasonably priced. The food was also very nice, they have a good range of Thai and European dishes on the menu so there is something for everyone.
It's also nicely done up inside, with a lovely pond, fish and (quite noisy) frogs which add to the ambiance ! Lots of plants and greenery inside make it a chilled and relaxing bar to spend time in.
The night I was on they had a great Bob Marley tribute band on, and the staff told me said that they try and have live music on most nights.
Overall I highly recommend Utopia Bar for a nice meal in lovely surroundings, or even just a cocktail or two.

Server either seriously drunk or using drugs. After 10 minutes another person came just to take the order again. Out of 3 ordered items, 2 were correct, 1 wrong. For every order somebody jumps on a motorbike and goes to bring groceries. It looks like there is nothing in a kitchen. Food average. Low prices. Got a free fruit platter at the end, probably excuse for a mishap - nice gesture. Look for something more appropriate if you can.

Good and inexpencive thai food and friendly staff. Just acrosss from KoHub which was the main reason i ate here.

Have never been so badly treated. The old man with the crazy hair in a ponytail changed the price, I dropped money on the floor and he put it in his pocket. He complained when he gave me wrong food. The bill is always higher than in the menu. That same man told me that I have to pay for a full tank gasoline when I don't even drive. I'm never going there again
