We were on foot searching for this restaurant at night and it was tucked in a quite a quiet not brightly lighted road. The restaurant looks a seasoned and woody setup with a stage for live band..... that is neat !
Looking at the crowd they were mostly locals and on that night we were the only non-locals. We sat ourselves nicely not too near the stage speakers and started ordering our thai foods. We had Chang beers to start with.... refreshing after the beer went down our systems. We ordered the "red" fish coated with salt and grilled, man !! it was awesome, fresh fish and the complimentary fresh vegetables and 2 types of "nam chim", ie dippng sauce went very well with the grilled fish. Squids with lemony sauce was another delicious food, fresh squids. We had others like local vegetable fried with prawn, the "tang hoon" in claypot with prawns. The aroma of this dish when we stirred it, escaping into the air around us was awesomely mouth watering and the taste lingered in our taste buds were just out of this world. Love it !
Our timing was just perfect, upon entering the restaurant a solo singer was singing Thai songs, then the solo singer started switching to English numbers as if he knows non-locals walked in, ha ! A change of band took place after 2 English songs was delivered by the solo singer. 2 guys and 1 lady singer walked on to the stage and performed. We requested 1 thai song and followed by the thai lady did a Teresa Teng's " Moonlight represents my heart" number. She did justice to her song, was sung quite well and pronunciation was perfect in Mandarin, bravo to her !!
We left this restaurant with satisfied stomachs, happy heart ( also means prices were reasonable at the restaurant ) and a lovely memory to bring back home. For it to turn into another travel itch to come back to this restaurant again. Do check out this place the next time you come to Hatyai. Cheers!!
