Food and service are 5 star! ..... Ambiance fails and seems more like a canteen. The lighting is far too bright for a relaxing or romantic dinner and I would go as far to say they use office white instead of warm light lamps. Very hard furnishings, no plants or low hanging lamps above the tables, just too much overhead light that even gives glare. Fantastic food in a canteen!

Great food, excellent service and good value. What I don't like is the atmosphere. It's a big room that's too bright...it's like eating in a hospital waiting room or works canteen, so not good if you fancy a quiet or romantic meal with partner or friends. Dimming the lights or having down lighting over each table would make it perfect...

A true Sunday Lunch experience with great roast meats. Excellent service from attentive staff. Baz is doing a fine job. I will return! Having returned a few times now, I am sad to say that the decor lets it down. I am reminded of a works canteen rather than an intimate restaurant. The lighting is harsh and there is no atmosphere. The TV showing the log fire helps but it is not enough! There is more and more competition opening up in the region and this place will suffer if it does not improve the decor.
